Iran: Protest movement inspires art
Iranian and non-Iranian citizens continue to create online works of art to support Iranians who protest against the June 12 presidential election results in Iran.
Last week, we published more examples of how ‘art meets protest’.
Tim Raines, an American artist created a design expressing solidarity with Iranian protesters.
Hamed Pourabedin‘s design refers to the death of Iranian protesters in the last two weeks. He suggests that killing protesters only makes the movement stronger.
Iranian blogger Elika Hedayat shares her art work on her personal Facebook page:
Also by Elika Hedayat is this design. The words in Persian spell out one of the protesters’ slogans: “Don't be afraid we are all together”

An Iranian artist plays the piano and sings as a tribute to Neda Agha Soltan, a young girl who was shot and killed during a post-election demonstration in Tehran on June 20. This video has been watched by more than 36,900 visitors:

People are being tortured and killed daily because they spoke out against the government, over 3000 more are awaiting their deaths in the prisons. Even though this is LAST MINUTE, try to come out today to support those in Iran that have fought for their freedom.
