Armenia: Iranian student protest

Posting photos and videos on his Frontline Club blog, Global Voices Online's Caucasus editor reports from a demonstration staged outside the Iranian Embassy in Yerevan protesting Friday's disputed presidential election.

  • Message to all Student Iranian Protestors. We here in America have been watching and the entire world has been watching you all put your heart, soul, belief and lives for a change to freedom and new governement. We here in American are in GREAT SUPPORT to the student protestors and all over the world. DONT GIVE UP and fight for the freedom you all deserve. We are all behind you all students and hope you continue to send out the messages to the world as we can to you.

    These troublemakers cannot be allowed to disrupt Iran-Armenia brotherhood. If they were to continue with such provocative and hostile actions against our friends, Armenia’s security forces should immediately arrest and detain them. Armenia cannot be seen as being complicit in the riots and acts of terrorism that have occurred in Tehran. Armenian people stand in solidarity with the Republic of Iran these riots. As President Sarkisian recently said in his meeting with the Supreme Leader, “Our Armenian compatriots fought shoulder to shoulder with their Muslim brothers during the Sacred Defense Era to defend the Islamic Revolution.”
