Israel: Plant to Farmer – “I'm Thirsty, Water Me”

“Come on, admit it, sometimes you just have to love Israel,” urges Jewlicious. Israeli researchers have developed sensors for plants that will send text messages to farmers when their water levels get low. Developed for commercial use, the devices are intended to decrease agricultural water costs by 50 percent.

It is a pity they do not have the human sensor to listen to the palestinians: “I am starving, free me”

  • Jamal

Now I understand why the Israelis consume water 50X the Palestinians and do not give them enough of their own water to drink. Palestinians do not have sensors!

  • Here is a gadget of noble purpose. Go Israel

  • ANIS

JEWS INVENTED A LOT OF THINGS INDEED! BUT THATS ONLY FOR THEMSELVES SO THAT THEY CAN INVADE OTHER PEOPLES LAND TAKE THEIR WATER AND USE IT SPRINKLE IT TO THEIR PLANTS!

  • If only some of these comments were in jest. This is an article about an agricultural technology that could help all people. It has nothing to do with anything else. Take your hatred elsewhere.

  • Jamal

Stating the truth is anything but hate. Hate is killing people just for their national origin or to steel their land. Do not you agree?

Maya, I don’t feel hatred but a lot of anger. Do you know the difference? A headline that states that I have to love Israel is a bit provocative. Remember the starving little children in Gaza who clung to the dead bodies of their mothers for days while Israel’s military would not allow medics to take them away? That comes to my mind when I’m told I have to love Israel.

You choose not to report if Israeli bloggers discuss this, although I and probably a lot more readers would be very much interested to hear about it. That’s a pity, but it’s your business. I may add that I find your posts very predictable and if I had to rely on your information about Israeli blogs I would have to think that they never write about any controversial theme.

It’s very obvious that you don’t love criticism, but I am afraid you just have to put up with it.

Come on, admit it, sometimes there are more urgent themes than you think.

  • Friends, please lighten up against Maya who is here on Global Voices in the name of dialogue and promoting understanding. This post is a quote from a blogger describing a farming device, and there is no need to get personal. I think we can all agree there is enough anger in this conflict that we don’t need to perpetuate it here.

Solana, you are right, there is enough anger and even more than enough hatred in this conflict. One reason more to discuss it in a civilized manner (promoting understanding), isn’t it? I like Alejandro’s and Jamal’s witty comments and I really can’t see why they should be accused of hatred.
