The recent genocide at B DR Head quarter in peelkhana is a great loss to the Nation ,this is barbric killings, this has not done by B D R. Mens alone some others groups used them for their own Revenge against the Army , most likely some politcians, and Bangladesh [j m b] this is a very sad day for the Nation and The Army,those who are involved should get Capital punishment, life for life,Sentence is not enough for the crime they commited, they should be Hanged, The government should also find the others culprits, and punished them hurshly no matter who they are, most big BUSINESS MEN ARE ALSO BEHIND THIS,
Army officers are taking 10000000000000000 times more pain physically and mentally than soldiers do.
All are sensible. Thanks for your interest. But in both hand I have found some gaps. I guess that has been created by the lack of experience. Now I just like ot make 2 points for your knowing sake:
About the salary structure, it is similar to civilil service scale. The soldiers of BDR and army gets everything free even the underwears. They only need to buy the toothpaste and dress. At the end of the month they legally saves more money than that of an officer.But traditionally BDR is a place of earning money and smarter people joins BDR for this reason. This people has got only physical fitness and a very very poor educational background with which probably he could not have become even a 4rth class employee anywhere in the country. I think all of you understand that every one cannot get the same salary in the country.
On the other hand being the think tank and the leaders of the men with arms the officers need to be very very smart. Well, smarter people do not take a job which does not offer honour, pride and workable salary. So you need to have some defferent attraction for the different ranks. If you call it disparity, well that is there. If you look at your right and left you will find all the army officers were first benchers in the schools and the colleges and most of them are from very reputed colleges. However, If we the people of Bangladesh think we do not need that smart people for the army that is our decision and we have to accept any problem arising from that in future. You will understand the capacity of the officers by only one job, The voter ID. No company offer wanted less than 3 years of time and many times more money than that has been expended. If now all the third class employees of a national hospital strikes and asks similar facility as the doctors, is it possible. I think the disparity between ranks are more severe in civil society than the army. Traditionally there is a feedback system and welfare managemet system exists in the defense organizations just to check all these possibilities. But the govt also has got some limitations which a person must understand. And a person must understand his own standard and expect the appropriate returnes from the govt or the employers.
Since I had the scope of seeing and evaluating some of the soldiers, I sincerely believe the facility they are enjoying now is far better than their qualification permits them to enjoy basing on the socio economic condition of BD. ( pl do not compare the degree itself only. you understand the GPA 4 from Notordam and GPA 4 from some rural college is not same). There was a time when people joined Army leaving BUET for the honour and pride only and that is why The officers of Bangladesh Army are well known and well accepted in the international community. I think this answers whether the demands were “Just” or not as said by vasudev akundi. I shall also ask Mr vasudev akundi to look at the salary structure throughout BD. About UN Mission, well there is no vacancy for Border Security Forces. There deprivation within army even, basing on the UN requirement. There are Engineer soldiers having more money than the officers just due to the fact that he had to go to the mission number of times. It happens and some one has to accept it. Because these are not secret. THey know it before they join an organization. About the extravagant life of officers and the wives. Most of the officers are from very good and well off families and they also marry in that type of families. More Over in The academy they are trained on living a decent and colourful life which might appear to some one as Extravagant. But definitely this extra money does not come from his pocket because he does not have that ,it comes from his or her parents or brothers or dear ones. If some of you have a brother as an army officer you would have felt pity for him. please get the details from some of your friend who has an army officer brother. For your information, the soldiers are many times upgraded by mere serving in the army or BDR while most of the officers are unable to maintain a similar social status that of his brother or friends who were inferior in quality during the student life.
Now about the punishment. The soldiers need hursh punishment to compell him to maintain discipline that is to be maintained by a men in uniform. There cannot be any shortcut in it. If people says it Humiliation or torture, it is that. But without this no uniform services run in the world. This is the problem of acceptance by the individual. A boy from a highly corrupted society when punished for just being late in morning training may not accept it by heart. But that is the rule in uniform, the officer have to punish him or else there will not be any order or discipline. This type of actions are more appropriate for the soldiers since they form the bulk of the force.
I think I could give you some light on some points that is not been highlighted on the discussions above. It might appear one sided but this is true. All of you are correct from your own point of standing. That is the reason I felt that I should put some light on some facts that I know. Thank you all.
