Guadeloupe: Police clash with protestors

Protests continue in Martinique and Guadeloupe, and yesterday protestors clashed with police.  Imaniyé posts photos and writes [Fr]: “Yesterday, the French forces of repression hit Guadeloupeans.  Tonight, Guadeloupe was set on fire and Guadeloupeans will not retreat!”

  • Thank you Jennifer for writing about it!!
The situation in Guadeloupe changed dramatically yesterday, from a peaceful 4-week-long mobilization to the first clashes. Most witnesses talk about very violent acts along with racist words from the French National guards towards women, young people and trade union leaders.
This reminds Guadeloupeans of very dark periods of their history.
