Egypt: How Can We Help Gaza?

Egyptian bloggers are rallying in support of Gaza, which is being pounded by the might of the Israeli forces for a week.

Yasmin asks: What can we do for Gaza?

She notes how we can really help instead of just being passive and blogs a few simple but positive actions Egyptian bloggers can start working on. They are:

* If you are a blogger, blog about it. Stay level and smart, respond to hate comments wisely and smartly.
* If you use Twitter, tweet about it.
* If you live in a country where you can change your politics rally and lobby for the cause.
* If you use Facebook, post articles and blog posts to point your non Arab friends to fairer information.
* If you are a cartoonist or an artist, express yourself and post on deviantart, facebook, blogs or wherever you can.
* If you are a teacher teach our younger generations.
* If you are part of Global Voices then translate articles and educate the rest of the world.

On a similar positive note, Appy and Mfawey have started a new initiative to support Palestine. They are asking their readers to email all international organizations to portray the reality of the appalling humanitarian conditions in Gaza due to the brutal Israeli attack and its impact on the civilian population. They are also calling for volunteer translators to translate the text into all languages.

The message posted on both blogs goes as follows:

Dear All

For the sixth day Israel continue their massacre against the people of isolated Gaza. about 440 killed and martyrs and more than 1750 injured with the support of the United states, immobility of Arab and international communities with only a mere verbal condemnations of unjustified violence against the Palestinian people. This was just a verbal accusation of unjustified violence against the Palestinian people.

Arabs, Muslims and Europeans went out into the streets to demonstrate and express their anger against the inhumane treatment suffered by the inhabitants of Gaza who are subjected to hunger, encroachment, and the violation of the all the principles of Human rights. this violence is not only against Hamas as announced by the Israeli media, but it has also affected the mosques, the Islamic University, houses and a school that depends on the United Nations relief for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) and the Palestinian government buildings in Gaza; the most populated area in the world which increased the total number of civilians victims . Yesterday the Israeli army announced that Gaza has become a military area while relying on a number of additional troops and tanks to prepare for a new ground military invasion to Gaza.

In addition, Israeli armored forces attacked the boat ”Dignity” which came from Cyprus and aimed to break the siege of Gaza
We ask you to help Gaza as soon as possible and immediately stop the Israeli massacre against the unarmed Palestinian people and ending the siege on Gaza, and the opening of the Rafah crossing point. The Egyptian authorities refused to open the crossing point in the absence of the Palestinian Authority, and the presence of international observers, and for fear of Israeli air strikes on the border strip in Rafah point while ensuring the transport of wounded Palestinians to the hospital in Egypt because of the shortage of essential medical tools In Gaza.

in the name of humanity And human rights, we ask you to rescue Gaza from the threat of genocide at the hands of the Israeli army.

Tahyyes writes about the medical supplies required in Gaza, in preparation for a medical relief convoy being sent to Palestine. The post includes a complete list of the medical supplies required to treat civilians maimed and injured during the previous week.

As for myself, I've asked my readers, and before anything, to learn how Israelis think by reading their blogs:

If Arabs are willing to win the case.. then KNOW YOUR ENEMY first!
Read Israeli's blogs and know their lies.. it isn't a hard equation after all..

I am an American. Please know that may times what the American government does and what the American people feel and think about a situation are two different things. Many people here are protesting the invasion of Gaza. I found this site by trying to locate a way to help the people of Gaza. I am a nurse, wife and mother: to see the injuries and oppresin that the people of Gaza is suffering is heart breaking. Let the people of Gaza know that they are not forgotten.

I am British and sit in total distain and watch news of the horrific attrocities being carried out against the innocent people of Gaza. I feel utterly useless and simply don’t know how to help. Israel must be stopped. Those of Hamas should hold their weapons up in shame and not use the land of others as a base for their war. Irrelevant of politics, the people of Gaza must not experience anything other than support, medical supplies and help in rebuilding their homes from this moment on.

Please let me know what I can do from the UK – read my entry – no.12

  • Bismillah,

    Assalamu 3laykom

As all of us know, Ghazza is at war. The jews are attacking it monstrously, leaving its people homeless, their eyes filled with tears.

Those people need your help to defeat the disrespectful jews.

    You can help them yourself!

You can do many things, and some suggestions are:

We do good and نطيع اللة اكثر و اكثر and نتدين اكثر و نقرأ القرأن . This way, Allah will free Ghazza- or Palestine. When we improve in our relationship with Allah, he will free Palestine, as said in the Holy Qura’an.

Pay sadaka for Ghazza, lots of sadaka, and Allah will give u more!

Make lots of duaa to Ghazza!

And I know there is lots of other things that weren’t mentioned in the suggestions, but if you have any other suggestions, add it to the list, and pass this message on and on! It won’t take too much time! Simply FW it to everyone you know, and

    InshaAllah we will free Ghazza!

and before sending this or typing please think of your intention

Lynn – I too think it is important too establish that this is not about extremism or religion this is about human decency and human rights as both the Koran, the Torah and the Bible or people of no religious belief are ready to speak out against. What can ordinary British women, mothers etc. do to help? Let’s have some concrete suggestions……. and for those that do not believe praying may not be useful

    hi
i’m from malaysia and i’m desperate to help. I cried everytime i watch the children. to USA you don’t have to take sides especially when it comes to children. There is a line for everything. TAKE THE CHILDREN SIDE and use it as an excuse to ACT.Isn’t it clear what is wrong and what is right if the leaders cant’ see that can you calll yourself a leader????????? and why is the israelis talking as if they don’t understand why people retaliate. if people occupy your territory and close your border and denounce your army do you just sit like a stupid dog. I’m sure israel will act worst than the palestines if this happens to them. Come on. This is acting god and feeling superior than others and not recognizing that it is wrong. Why? because we don’t condemn these act. Start comdemning. USA people if u think this is wrong and Israel is your friend and tell them where they are wrong. Isn’t that what friends are for. But if you think this is right then i rest my case and may god support these so called terrorist. WHO ARE THE REAL TERRORIST??? whether you seek it or not truth will come out it is just sooner or later because god is much fairer than humans. I have my faith in the good of human kind. SAVE THE CHILREN and speak out as if your own child being terrorized. Don’t stop until they stop hurting them.

its very frustration to see the arab leaders are doing nothing..i dont understand these so called AHLI KITAB..why they admit that they are from prophet muhammad (pbuh) but not following the sunnah?instead what i see arabs today are not like in the old days..they are assboiyah (racist) among each other..i think you should help the arabs and tell them stop being so takbur and racist among each other..dont blame on islam..islam is a good religion..people makes it bad..and tell the arabs accept any critics from anyone..otherwise people wont respect you arabs anymore like now
