In a few hours time 81 million Bangladeshi voters (51% women) will go to vote for the ninth parliamentary election. The election is crucial for the nation as it will bring the country back into the track of democracy after two years of emergency rule of an interim government backed by armed forces.
We have discussed earlier about the use of internet in the campaign and activism for an informed vote. Now we have got another interesting development.
Somewhere in, a software company and the pioneer of the first bangla blog community in the world has introduced a twitter like web based micro blogging community where message can be sent via web and mobile phones (sms) for dissemination of news of the election by the netizens. The messages can also be sent directly to an interactive map where location based information can be found.

PEACE at last arrived in the soil of Bangladesh as the Freedom Fighters of 1971 Liberation War gave the Freedom & The Care-Taker Govt. of Gen. Moeen-U-Ahmed gave the Peaceful Democratic Election to the innocent peace loving people of The People’s Republic of Bangladesh, it is surprising only 18 person was injured no death or fire-burning, excellent result as we watched during BD-DEC.2008 Election. MAY ALLAH/GOD Bless Bangladesh in Peace & Progress beside great-China & great-India as a honest friend while the Freedom Fighters & its people bleed ed for a nation of Fair-Freedom & True-Democracy so that no one dies in hunger & without care! The Election was conducted most Farely & Peacefully first time after the Liberation War 1971. We hope the Care Taker Government shall handover the Power to the majority Elected Political Party as soon as all the formalities of the Election counting is concluded so that the Democratic Govt. takes care of their people free from corruption as previously experienced.
It is great to say to share power with others in serving the people of Bangladesh, how nice of Madam Sheikh Hasina! And in respect to Democracy by the people for the people Madam Begum Zia shall be there in serving our golden-bengal of shawnirbhor-bangladesh as the strongest opposition party upholding fair-freedom & true-democracy for a happy Bangladesh that we hope & pray while this innocent nation drained the blood of Bangabandhu, Gen.Zia, about 3M-death beside those innocent Birangona’s, tear’s of pain! Let there be light of forgiveness in faith humanity to pull on for a land of symbolic-Peace in National-Development.
