Taiwan: Newspaper for the Immigrants

Bao Bon Phuong, a unique immigrant-focussing Vietnamese newspaper celebrates its second year from its first issue in Dec. 2006. On its blog(zh), the editor 張正 Zhang Zheng writes : “Everyday, the editorial team receives dozens of letters written in Vietnamese. Each letter contains different state of mind: to thank somebody, to look for new friends, to ask for helps, to talk about his or her daily life in Taiwan, to yearn for homes and families.  Some mail their photos, essays, and pantings to us in wish to share them all on newspaper with others.” “As the rise of Web 2.0, readers are the major actors; they are authors, journalists(more than half of the content in each issue are provided by our readers). The editorial team are more than glad to work hard as our readers’ stepping stone-to digest, type, edit, send-in order to spread out our readers’ voices. “
