Pakistan: Blame Game On Mumbai Terror – The Blogosphere Speaks

Recent terror attacks in Mumbai have seriously disturbed and complicated the on-going peace dialogues between India and Pakistan. Where Indian officials are not hesitating to point fingers to Pakistan, the Pakistani officials have been denying Pakistan's involvement in the attacks. Pakistan authorities have further requested not to play the blame game and have offered their full support in the investigation. While all these are happening the Pakistani Blogosphere has a lot of important things to say:

Dr. Awab Alvi at Teeth Maestro says:

What has also sadly transpired within the following day is that the ‘official’ blame game circus is in full swing, contrary to my initial message where I expressed my relief that Pakistan was not being blamed since Deccan Mujahideen were taking the blame, but much to my dismay the good news [?] was short lived and very soon the Indian government was livid at the Pakistani intelligence agencies for having masterminded this attack, in all honesty it might even had been the ISI [ironically we cant trust them either] but whosoever created the mess, Indian or Pakistanis it must be condemned at all costs.

M Junaid Khan at Pro-Pakistan publishes a newsletter that was being distributed publicly:

Even when the shootings were going on in hotels, Indian media and army were blaming ‘Pakistan’ for the attacks. The game is clear and sinister. The Indian Intelligence have diverted the global attention towards another issue where they would blame Pakistan for this slaughter and use Barack Obama’s doctrine of attacks on Pakistan to encircle Pakistan from both sides. It is such a shame that Pakistani media is not highlighting this issue and is only repeating what Indians want the world to see and believe.

tperacha at Lahore Metblogs writes his reservations:

Times of India is already reporting that Pakistani militants have been captured and that this whole incident could not have happened without support from across the border. Now I am sure that similar to 2001 Indian Parliament Attack, NADRA issued ID cards will be found in possession of all these terrorists and then it requires not much wit to figure it out! The western media are also jumping on the bandwagon and trying their best to portray this as another al-qaeda attack.

Maybe we should also borrow a page from our neighbor’s book and God forbid, next time when we have a terrorist attack in Pakistan, simply blame it on RAW and get on with our lives. In fact a lot of analysts believe that foreign elements have played part in the recent attacks in Pakistan, but unlike the Indian government, our government doesn’t have the balls to blame any external element.

Adil Najam at Pakistaniat shows his solidarity with Indians in these words:

I, too, am a Mumbaikar today.

I wish I could reach out and for just one moment hold the hands of the woman in this AP photograph. Maybe shed some tears on her shoulder. But I do not know what I would say to her. I do not think she would want me to say much. The expression on her face matches the feeling I have at the pit of my stomach and in the depth of my heart. I think – I hope – that she would understand how I feel. I can only imagine what she is going through.

Rana at The Pakistani Spectator tries to unfold the facts in his opinion:

1. They came on speed boats from Pakistan. WOW :). Indian coastguards intercept fisherman that cross the maritime borders into Indian waters everyday. Thousands rot in Indian jails and here we have guys with sophisticated weapons entering India and their coast gaurds were fast asleep…….hmmmm fishy.

2. Mumbai police intercepted calls made to/from Pakistan….what idiot would do that?? maybe the Mumbai police. Hey there is my number…come get me.

3. They had the “footprints” of the ISI…..did the ISI leave behind its footprints….hmmm

Jokes apart…so who were behind the attacks?

Where all these rumors were flying around, the Indian mainstream media has nonetheless been irresponsible with the blame game. At my blog Guppu.com I have posted a video of a sensationalist reporting by the Indian media speculating about accents of the terrorists.

On a request of the Prime Minister of India a representative of ISI is to visit India for sharing of intelligence. The Prime Minister of Pakistan has promised his country's full support in the investigation. But still fingers are being pointed out towards Pakistan and the blame game continues. A portion of Pakistani media is playing along with the game inciting rumors.

  • First of all Indian government is fool to make suck comments before getting enough evidence on this they are making such statements. On the other hand when the captive terrorist confessed he is from Pakistan then this doesnt means that whole pakistan is to be blamed.

One more point, We know that our government agreed on the infiltration happened through sea and the security forces at the sea is acute and porous. My question goes to Pakistani officials, when these people were moving out from Karachi or whatever with all the arms and ammunitions. Was the security guards and coast guards sleeping at that time. Well i am talking like a general citizen neither i am favoring our government nor i am taking side of pakistan. Why cant we be strong on both the ends. Guys this is wake up call for both the countries. Wake up, dont sleep and get up when its too late. You need to keep your eyes and ears open…

ACTION IT BEFORE ITS TOO LATE…

I held Pakistan and India both responsible for what happenned…

Frankly with a congress govt on no one should be seriously worried about a war unless something new and equally dramatic takes place over the top of it.Now if elements in pakisthan are responsible(which i believe is) or not,the time is for india to seriously introspect its own security apparatus and the kind of response. If US does bomb pak at will, take the same course if you have exact data on LET CAMPS.Or if ISRAEL is willing to do this offer them ground support. But under Indian political conditions nothing is going to happen.Ya…we myt not play cricket….what a joke

I think the source of funds for all terror is Saudi Arabia who has so much dirty idle money that they can brainwash poor Pakis to create a scene for Islam

  • niro

I just hope that Pakistan will soon go bankrupt because of the current economic crisis and so as all the wealthy muslim sponsors of terror siting inside and outside Pakistan.

It is high time Indian citizens are vigilant and not depend on the Govt. The Hindus in India should monitor any Muslim youth between the ages of 19-35 in their community. Find out who he associates with, where does he go.. The attitude should be a Muslim youth is a Terrorist until proven Inncocent!!! Keep a watch on any new faces coming into the community.
Secondly, if the evidence point that these terrorists were from Pak, India should bomb these ISI headquarters & the Madrasas, just like what US did to Afganistan & Iraq. Reply back in kind in the language that these Terrorists understand!!! INDIA SHOULD THE WORLD WHAT YOU ARE MADE OF SO THAT ONCE & FOR ALL PAKISTAN SHOULD NEVER EVER THINK OF THESE KIND OF TERRORISM. DO NOT BE A SPINLESS, BACKBONE-LESS COUNTRY & WATCH TERRORIST KEEP HITTING YOU TIME & TIME AGAIN….

    REPLY TO ZAKIR:

Buddy i dont know who told u that Pakistan accepted this false blame of guys going from karachi to mumbai.. but my only sincere suggesstion to you is please CNN instead of your local indian channels… i have been hearing really sarcastic and funny news from the india media.. seems like most of the channels there have gone MAD… they dont even know what they are sayin.. and the whole world is watching. Its time for INDIA to get out of your SAAS-BAHU daily soaps. I feel like india is playing this saas bahu politics with Pakistan, when bahu is wrong.. she blames saas, and when saas is wrong she blames bahu… no body acts mature and admit plus correct faults. India has now started blaming own ministers.. that sounds ridiculous.. i am so grateful to GOD i dont live in INDIA. i use to believe our country is hopeless due to terrorism and etc etc problems.. but thanks GOD our media is not into dirty politics, and we dont create dramas like this.. I am proud of what positive meaures our government and public has taken. But if India kept insluting our positive gestures, we will make them pay the price. We have seen the co called comando action of their NSG and Black Cats too.. no wonder why its so heroic for innocent Indians.. but i swear even the hollywood movies have better comando’s. Atleast they dont let the hostages die.. even after such a long action.. anyways.. even the BLIND can see… still India media is too good at saas bahu thing… i wish i can award them with a SAAS BAHU AWARD OF THE YEAR!

wow.. very funny.. what a nice extreamist speech. You are sounding more terrible then an AL_QAEDA agent. If our PM is a crook… your PM is a bloody murder.. who killed his own countrymen, to hide off his failures. Courtesy to MURAD’s message.. what a shame pandit if you think this way. I think its you who really needs a good quality education before coming here and talking on an International Forum…

You showed the level of mentality you possess… Thank God i dont live among such extreamists like you..!

ok Mr. Sherlok Homes, nice investigation. But buddy a theief never says he’s a thief, so if a captive says he’s from PAK.. you believed him..?? oh my poor baby.. So u say.. he made calls to PAK.. wow.. what an incredible mark of investigation?? was it you who got the call records? your media said.. and your believed.. WOW.. great work my fellow Indians… BRAVO on thinking this way. What a shame to call our selves living in a global village..
You made very good points on the basis of ur Fckin Indian Media.. now let me answer you on the Basis of INTERNATIONAL MEDIA:

    1. was indan navy drunk or slept when Supposingly some guys came all the way from khi to Mumbai??
    2. Was police too weak to let a fw bad guys drive their van on roads of mumbai shooting innocent people.. where were the police mobile vans? why didnt they capture them?
    3. Where were the security guards at TAJ and TRIDENT.. see tapes of guards who sacrificed their lives at Marriott Islamabad.. by not letting the tempo full of explosives to enter in the hotel.
    4. Ok now.. you call it a sensible comandi action where u kill terrorists along with hostages.. wow.. NSG took too long and resulted in Bring out the dead bodies.

Buddy us govt got the BIGGEST SHOCK OF LIFE, when Pakistan agreed to help with the investigation… what else could be done by us… it spoiled the pre plan mumbai drama.. because they wanted us to protest so that they can prove us guilty and find a reason to enter war.. this is done in order to cover up the failures from the Government side..
Mind it buddy..! if we would have been guilty.. we know how to protect our people and our borders.. but when we are not guilty, it shows to the entire world by our positve gestures. Seems like this blog is so full of people coming with stuffed minds… and hatred for PAKISTAN… i really feel sorry..
No not ironically… with all my heart i feel sorry for you guys… When will you be able to see facts… beyond your TV screens… why relying on only Indian media for news.. go check websites buddy.. see the international media too…
anyways i can only pray for you people.. and hope for the best.. atleast i have not been taught or stuffed any one to speak Fckin Rubbish stuff oabout anyone… specially on a Global Forum..
    GOD HELP YA GUYZZ!
