BOBs: Global Videobloggers Compete for Award Part 2

Categories: Latin America, Western Europe, Brazil, France, Germany, Spain, Arts & Culture, Film

[1]Earlier this week we visited the videoblogs of some of the nominees for the BOBs, Deutsche Welle's Best of Blogs awards. On this second part, we'll see which other videobloggers from all over the globe are nominated and what your choices will be when you decide to vote for your favorite one!

Gina Tost is Ginantonic [2], a Spanish videoblogger, blogger and podcaster. She posts about her travels, life, has interviews with celebrities, and has been posting since 2004, when she started her blog in Catalan, a dialect spoken in Barcelona. On “Mi Primer Bicing [3]” she records her first experience being part of the Barcelona Bicycle Network.Videoblog do Trajano [4] is a soccer blog by sports journalist José Trajano from Brazil, where he makes his personal opinions better known.

From France, we have a poetic and artsy videoblog by Loiez Deniel, Poésie des désirs en désordre [5]. C'est la cri$e [6] has an unnerving effect, showing dogs reacting to the filming visitor at the other side of the cage's bars, some cheerfully barking and wagging their tails, others pacing and growling inside small kennel cages at what could possibly be an animal shelter.

Also from France, Films 7 [7] curates online video according to specific topics. For example, they currently have a section on Actresses Facing the Camera [8], where they have requested for other vloggers to send in their videos of women reading classic texts in front of a camera. In the following example, olivia_gotanegre [9] reads a text:

The final nominee in the VideoBlog category for the BOBs is Marlene Duffy from Germany for Bottleplot [10], a website where she uploads her wine tasting videos and teaches a bit about the wine culture.

By the way, we are happy to announce [11]that Rising Voices [12], one of the spinnoff projects at Global Voices has also been nominated for the BOB in Best Weblog category. Please check it out [12] and we hope you give us your vote!
