Finally this is happening! Georgia did not participate in any CIS activites, did not helped this organization at all but used all its benefits, like free trade among 13 states and no-visa border crossing. Now Georgia will get customs barriers and visas. So long, agressors!

In regards to what ignorant stiletto said :

Georgia did not have any benefits from CIS countries. Instead its products and wine were banned from Russia, its businesses where cracked down, and the Visa regime has always existed even before despite pleas to make it easy to travel.

Country that wants to join the west can not benefit from an organization that includes countries like Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and all that dictatorial garbage. I hope Ukraine will leave it too. I am sure Russia will find reasons to reclaim pro-Russian Crimea and start a new conflict in Ukraine, with the same scenario. What a ruthless aggressor with a pretext of protecting minorities. Protecting minorities that they can easily control on the expense of exterminating majority, that is an ethnic cleansing.

Russia has always acted as a bully. From the times of the USSR empire to now. It cannot forget its imperial past and still wants to bask in imperial glory. For that reason, Russia will use any means to bully its former “colonies”. Creating enclaves such as South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Pridnestrovie has been a proven tactic – keep the countries weak due to internal struggles. This shows that Russia will never be democratic.
