Sri Lanka: Monitoring Mobiles

A mobile telephony provider in Sri Lanka wants all users to include photographs in their registration documents. LirneASIA doesn't see the point of such a move.

    Well guess we are not in Sri Lanka to understand the situation. They say its for security reasons.

    Apparently the terrorists organisation called LTTE are using phones for covert operations that result in many innocent civilians being blown. Think government are trying to track down culprits.

    I guess all mobile service providers are making it compulsory to have some form of ID there.
