Where’s chan? So much for the Great Peace Lover China that never involves herself with other countries’ business.

    kai,
Looking for me? When you call upon my name, I will appear in front of you :-)…China is doing a lot of business like any other country but she like Peace like a lot of others do…, 远者来, 近者来也. Remember there is no grave for you to stomp on in reality !!!

    @ chan:

I respect that you didn’t back down from a challenge. However, my point in asking you to come here was for you to explain how China is a “Great Peace Lover” when she sells weapons to regimes that use such weapons, in state-sanctioned violence and terrorism, to undermine democratic elections and political opponents that were widely supported by the people?

This is the statement of China for working towards Peace, she suggested more negotiations and communications to resolve conflicts.

I don’t think so it is “to undermine democratic elections and political opponents that were widely supported by the people?” and don’t think majority of them (black) supported the planned election ??

The pool people really need to fight for their rights…

    @ knights:

You claim you’ve lived in the United States for some time. Is there an excuse for why you don’t understand figures of speech?

    @ chan:

I’ve met many people and most of them are good. That doesn’t mean their government always does the right thing.

Did you even read the rest of that post? Go back and read it.

How can China, your “Great Peace Lover,” ship weapons to Zimbabwe? How can China, your “Great Peace Lover,” refuse to support an arms embargo that would limit the potential of continued civil and government violence in Zimbabwe?

You obviously have not been following the news regarding Zimbabwe and/or clearly know very little about what has been happening there. Please go do more research about the issue before you continue to make silly statements.

I’ll give you the short version since you’re clearly too lazy to read: The political opponent to Mugabe, Tsvangirai, won 47.9% to Mugabe’s 43.2% in the Zimbabwe presidential election. Due to Zimbabwe law, a second election was required. However, escalating political violence against Tsvangirai and his supporters resulted in Tsvangirai withdrawing from the second election because he feared his supporters being harassed, punished, or killed.

The African Union has asked for a Government of National Unity in Zimbabwe. I don’t think you actually understand what that is. More importantly, if China supports “more negotiations and communications to resolve conflicts” then why does it want to continue giving more guns and weapons to Mugabe?

Chan, I wrote a response to you a long time ago, but I’m guess the moderator has not or did not approved the message. Either way, you should’ve already realized that you’re wrong since you’re already on Kennedy’s thread.

If you haven’t, just go and FINISH reading Ruan Yifeng’s blog post. Don’t copy and paste the news propaganda that he quotes and responds to. You’re supposed to argue against what he said if you want to prove your point about China being the Great Peace Lover that never involves itself with other country’s business.
