China: A glimpse at Olympic garden sculptures

Global Voices Olympics Safin at FunEnclave posts a series of photos of artistic garden sculptures done in preparation for the upcoming Beijing Olympics.

Writes reader patch01:

Might as well do something nice for the tourists, I'm guessing that the 30,000 displaced families, whose homes were levelled to make way for the games, aren't going to be as impressed……………

  • what?

What about the rest of the 18 million Beijingers who get to enjoy the benefits that the Olympics brings (including this garden)?

Apparently one of the symptoms of the “China-bashing syndrom” is brain damage.

Instead of spending hugh amount of money to decorate the capital, the government should spend more money on the great green wall which was standing between Inner Mongolian autonomous region and the capital. The desert is growing, and it would cover the beautiful garden with sand in the future.

What amazes me is that the sky is blue and the air is clear….nothing like Bejing. I also read a blog from Bejing resident saying he or friends had never heard of it or seen it. I don’t believe it is in that very poluted city. Anyone know where the Olympic Garden is?
