Nationalists of both sides should compromise. We don’t need these problems in the EU.

  • kojoti

we already make compromis we agree to have temporary name in UN, we change flag, we change our constitution. :)
if i am nationalist because i want to call my self Macedonian than i am really proud. If we need to go in EU without our name and we need to be people without nationality than we don’t need EU.
our name doesnt reflect all Macedonia name of country is Republic of Macedonia is different enaugh from “Former Otoman province greek Macedonia” :)

Kojoti, since you brought up the 20000 children who “escaped”, are you aware that the number was 28000 and they were abducted, not “escaped” during the greek civil war(see
    http://www.topix.com/forum/world/macedonia/TDUSH7RU3PI673GEB
), which discusses how the children were indoctrinated into the same sort of stupid anti-greek propaganda that you grew up with. And btw, this is what the west and the UN were saying at the time(see the resolutions), not “nationalistic” greece.
The history you are taught is completely stupid. No one in the west believes that crap. And it can be shown very simply that Ancient macedonians(who btw would have had no relation to slavs anyway) were greek. But I doubt you would be interested in the truth. So keep on insisting you are the only macedonians and soon you will find the last of your supporters switching sides

  • kojoti

Abducted childrens will have soon meeting in Macedonia you are more than welcome to come and tell them that they were abducted because they don’t know that.i didn’t say that we are only Macedonians there are more Macedonians in greece, Bulgaria and Albania. And all around the world.
By the way if they were abducted why Greece forbid them to enter in Greece? :)
why they didn’t return them their land property?

  • tom

    Good point:
“there are more Macedonians in greece, Bulgaria and Albania”
    Unfotunately, these
do not want to be the same “macedonians” that you claim to be.

All countries have proper entry/visa procedures for foreign nationals. Greece is no exception. Jenniserries were also
christian children abducted by the ottomans during their reign and brainwashed to be loyal ottoman soldiers.
I know of no balkan country who considers them their citizens. Every country has its own laws regarding property. In Greece the laws used to be, as far as I know
that if you have a piece of land and do not use it for some 5-7 years, the neighbor could claim it. But if anyone thinks he owns property, they can use the court system like everybody else.

  • kojoti

    LOL

i didn’t mention visa i say forbiden entries is different. Ok so this abducted childrens we brainwash them and told them that they are macedonians LOOOOL.

so abducted childs want to come back in Greece why they can not do that?

i can not belive non sences what you write.

How you can use your property if you don’t have access to country?

    LOL

so according to you, you going out from Greece and you return on border, they don’t let you in country 6-7 years and i take over your property LOL.

    That is call democracy!!!!

    next questions
i like to ask lot of questions maybe i will learn something new :)

why all writing in some of churhes and monasters on icons are erased, repainted and new greek writing are on top of them?
what language was before writen? :)

It seems to me some of the people posting here should try to read a little more material on this subject before making their recommendations on what the Macedonians and Greeks should do. At any rate, it is erroneous to make statements like “Macedonia is Greek because it always has been” and accept this as a hard fact. I am assuming most of you here have not heard of the Treaty of Bucharest (or are not as familiar with it as you should be). Maybe I am mistaken….
Anyway, there are plenty of credible sources for those of you who wish to read texts by accredited university professors who say that the Ancient Macedonians and the Ancient Greeks viewed themselves as racially distinct but that Macedonian royalty did try to put forth propaganda which claimed Hellenic lineage (this, however, was largely discredited by the ancient Greeks themselves – a standard example being Demosthenes). As I said before, those looking for credible sources on the aforementioned details should try Eugene Borza, A.B. Bosworth, Ernst Badian, and others. That is not to say that the Ancient Macedonian monarchy did not appropriate many Hellenic elements, for they did precisely that. This fact, however, does not mean that they were ethnically Greek. Others have put forward the idea that the Ancient Macedonians speaking Greek confirms their identity as Ancient Greeks, but this is a very thin argument. The Persians also spoke Greek as did many other nationalities. Greek was the “lingua franca” at that time as English is today, and all educated persons spoke Greek (fairly reasonably). It would be just as ridiculous today to conclude that someone is British simply because they speak English. Also, there is evidence for an Ancient Macedonian language which is said to have been “unintelligible” to the Greeks, but R.A Crossland warns that there are too few surviving words in Ancient Macedonian to make any conclusive statements.

At any rate the Macedonians have the right to call themselves Macedonians if they want, just as they can call themselves Candied Corn if they so choose.
You might also want to limit the use of hilarious epithets like “FYROMians” and “Slavoalbanian Macedonians” because most Macedonians I know would find that offensive and so would many of my Greek friends who are decidedly more liberal-minded than most of the people posting here.

Good luck with the craziness EU.
