Nigeria: British Airways must apologise

The British Airways must apologise for mistreating Nigerians: “yes, I think its time for the Nigerian government to take seriously the issue of how Nigerians are treated in the international scene. They should take it so seriously to the extent that the next Nigerian seen at any airport will receive immediate respect.”

I strongly believe Nigerians, in fact Africans should arise and unite against unjust treatments. British airways should apologise and our leaders should take a public stand concerning this issues.

We have our own problems but to look down on a fellow and and treat him unjustly I would say thats crime against humanity. BA explained but i am very positive 136 people on that plane will not be wrong.

‘Some of our compatriots tend to be too dramatic in asserting their rights’

From an article regarding the removal of 100 Nigerian passengers from a Lagos bound flight from London.

I do not see anything wrong with evicting a large, rowdy, violent argumentative crowd from an airplane. Especially in the times we live in where airport security is paramount.

Nigerians are not angels. Come to Peckham, London. Nigerians have a worldwide reputation for being criminals. If you think you deserve respect you will all need to grow up first !!

  • Just Nigerian

If Peckham is the yardstick for measuring Nigerians, why is British Airways doing business with criminals. Even criminals have rights, at least after you take our money we do. How about the British touts that misbehave on the streets and in the buses, does that mean I should treat all British people that way? If you were to treat all Americans like the ones you find in Brooklyn, the whole world would complain and ask for respect.
Bottom line is that people on the plane spoke up for civil rights, they were not making a fuss because of criminal activites. My question to ‘truesay’ is if it was the other way around what would you truly say.And for British Airways-Dont take someone’s money if you are not ready to respect them.

Nigerians must start demanding that Nigeria Government own an Airways. It is a shame a country as big and oil rich as Nigeria has no Airline, instead Nigeria leases airplanes from poorer counteries.Nigerians should demand apologies from it’s govt.,and not from the British Airways.
