Cameroon: Fraudulent dog sales

Ethan writes about dog fraud in Cameroon: “I mentioned to Stross a new scam I’d become aware of: fraudulent dog sales from Cameroon. Buyers are offered a chance to buy a pedigree’d pooch from an “AKC-certified” breeder in Cameroon – when the sale goes through, the buyer will be asked for additional fees, including travel insurance and vaccination fees. Needless to say, the dog never arrives. Message board posts on this topic make it clear that this is an increasingly common scam, and that lots of people fall for it.”

They do it to us naive people wanting to believe in people! DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY WESTERN UNION TO ANYONE IN CAMEROON, AFRICA, “DIEDO-DOUALA”, ANYONE OUT OF COUNTRY. It is a SCAM. I was out $601 for 2 English Bulldog Pups. Once I caught on, they haven’t replied to any of my emails or anything. I’m not wasting anymore money. I even called the airports in Cameroon & France. I’m scared to see how much my phone bill is going to be. I’m def out more than $601 when all this comes to an end. They can’t put a horse on a plane to transfer it. Think about it. And the error in his message saying pup~good catch. Save your money & buy your granddaughter a horse locally. Remember what our grandparents & parents always said…”IF IT’S TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT USUALLY IS”!! That sums it all up.

New scam…Elvis Jeo is another name for this same fraud!his email add is elvismuma@gmail.com. i read an ad about English bulldog puppies for free adoption. i asked why he was giving away puppies for free. In his reply, he sounded like a very polite old woman saying he just wanted his “children” to have good homes and that he’s giving away the puppies to those people who can promise him their safety because he knows that some people don’t have money to buy pets so he’s giving them away for free… The next day i received an email from him. he sounded different (he did not sound like a polite old lady anymore..more of a businessman telling me what to do). He then claimed that the puppies were not actually his but his brother’s who is in Africa for a seminar. He gave me contact numbers..023774183124 or +23774183124. He said i need to contact his brother for approval. This made me realize that I’m being fooled. In the first place, he lied to me saying that the puppies are his. Another thing, if he/they really wanted their puppies to be adopted, why do they have to post ads in the web in order for foreign/ people away from Africa to see their post and “adopt” their puppies? I’m sure they have nice neighbors who would want to adopt their adorable puppies if they were really for free! They obviously just want to ask for money from interested people and claim that the money is for the shipping of the pups……Please don’t be fooled……before you purchase anything in the web….make a good research about the people behind the marketing and the product………it’s your money at stake! You worked hard for it, don’t let these thieves get your money that easily! be wise!
