Armenia: Constitutional Court Ruling

Unzipped comments on last night's ruling by the constitutional upholding the results of the 19 February presidential election in Armenia. The blog says that it is not surprised at the verdict and alleges the court came under political pressure to reject opposition candidate Levon Ter-Petrossian's appeal.

It’s really funny that we believe we have “constitutional court”. My grandmother would say “fox calls its tail as a witness” [agvesy ir pochin e vka kanchum]. It’s basically the same thing— constitutional court reinforces the wrongdoings of the government…its just sad that generations of Armenians have to live under the regime of “goxakan” government.

Even if Levon were the president, the government would still be “goxakan”. Levon IS the one who began to eraze the Dashnaks and who told his own people on the TV “pox chuneq, gnaceq harevanic partq areq, apreq”. What can you expect from this person being a president?? Don’t be ridiculous!!! He was the first president and he robbed the country and killed more people than this “goxakan” government. Anyways, I want to say that it’s a pity, that my people has to chose between Levon and Serj, as none of them is worth the events on march 1.
Everyone must understand, that Armenian state is the reflection of Armenian people. So, what’s confusing about bad governance, cheap burocrats, illegal elections etc. One must first look at himself and only then blame the others. Yerevan is not dirty because the government doesn’t clean it, it is dirty because most of so called “erevanciq” are “khozer”!!
After all this, if anyone really wants to help his country, he wust do his own goddam work and be a good citizen, in spite of writing stupid articles and claiming international instances for “help”, because this acts dishonour not only our “goxakan” government, but also every Armenian existence in the world.
