I have read that Romania has reformed their electoral law to change it to a one round first-past-the-post system. Apparently there is a threshold too ? (which is usual in PR countries). Could you confirm this ?
Yes, a new electoral law was passed in March 2008 setting up a Italian-style mixed proportional-majoritarian voting system; the threshold was left unchange, standing at 5% of the vote, with exception for the representation of ethnic minorities.
