The protest was against the public corruption that has led to R$ 200 million (around US$ 114 million) losses caused by unauthorized, irregular, and wasteful expenditure, as well as criminal activity. “The protest took the streets of the capital in an orderly and peaceful manner. The message was delivered and I believe that many of those [politicians] involved will only be able to rest on sleeping pills and lots of imported whiskey”.
