Ghana: Elections in Ghana

Ghana Elections 2008 blog's short history of elections in Ghana: “The leader of the then opposition NPP party John Kuffuor won year 2000 and 2004 elections. As per the constitution, John Kuffor can not stand for elections again in year 2008. Apart from the national elections for the post of head of state and president, there is going to be legislative elections to elect 230 members of parliament. The year 2008 election is going exciting, interesting and closely fought one.”

  • This is clections is one touch win for the ruling NPP. Their track record has show more positive than both opposition NDC and CCP.NDC tradition has the country for twenty years. CCP tradition has total thirteen year .Unfortunitely the Danquah and Busia tracdition has less than ten years. It is clear than NPP did inherite minus state economy yet they have able to turn things in their favour. Nkrumah used most of the money we left behind the British for personall pan Africa agenda. He could have devoloped Ghana middle income economy . His human right records were very poor. He did some positive devolopmental projects but there were not enough comparing the size of the money we have then.
Rawlings did not only failed to improved the economy but destroy what he came and meet. All the state establishment were sold to his family and cronies. He confisicate poor citizens money and keep in them his pravite accounts. His wife became unofficial primeminister of Ghana. Many barbaric act were commited during his regimes.
Kuffour has done what is good . Some of ministers are not good at all. They are like some of former ministers in NDC time . I hope some will face fast track court after they are out government. There are questing to answer ,when they no more in government.
The elections victory will go to the ruling party.

AT LEAST FOR ONCE THE GOOD PEOPLE OF GHANA WILL HAVE THE GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO COMPARE THE TRACK RECORDS OF NDC’S 8 YEARS AND NPP’S 8 YEARS.
IT IS OBVIOUS THAT LIFE OF THE AVERAGE GHANAIAN HAS NOT IMPROVED MUCH IN THE PAST 7 AND HALF YEARS OF THE NPP GOVERNEMNT,THIS IS COUPLED WITH THE HIGH PERCEPTION OF CORRUPTION IN “HIGH PLACES”.
WHILES PEOPLE ARE GETTING DISATISFIED WITH THE CURRENT GORVERNMEN ,THE NPP PRESIDNETIAL CANDIDATE HAS FOCUS MUCH OF HIS CAMPAIGN AGENDA ON SHOWERING UNREALISTIC PRAISES ON PRESIDENT KUFFOUR.
THIS IS EVEDENT AT THE IEA DATES ,RESULTING IN THE POOR PERFORMANCE OF NANA AT BOTH ACRA AND TAMALE.

IT WILL BE UNFAIR TO SUGGEST THAT KUFFOUR HAS NOT DONE MUCH FOR GHANA, BUT PLEASE NANA TALK MORE ABOUT NANA’S GOVERNMENT.

THE ONLY MASSAGE GHANAIANS WILL BE EXCITED ABOUT IS HOW GOVERNMENTS WILL BE ALBE TO ENABLE GHANAIANS ACQUIRE A DECENT HOME,GOOD EDUCATION FOR THEIR CHILDREN,ENSURE FOOD SECURITY AND ACCESSIBILITY AND A SECURED COUNTRY.

THIS I SINCERELY BELIEVE THE NDC LEAD BY PROF JOHN EVANS ATTA MILLS WILL PROVIDE AS A NOBLE DUTY TO THE GOOD PEOPLE OF GHANA FROM A GOOD LEADER.

AND I THEREFORE PROMISE YOU THAT THE NDC WILL WIN A ONE TOUCH VICTORY COME DECEMBER 7 ,2008.

GOD BLESS OUR HOMELAND GHANA,GOD BLESS US ALL AND WE PRAY FOR GOD TO SEE US THROUGH A PEACEFULL ELECTION 2008. AMEN FOR NDC.

i find Ayariga’s comment very interesting. Look i have problem with people who don’t work and yet found on gov pay roll. hence they claim there was money in people’s pocket. Every discerned minded person will attest that the economic has expanded. What i suggest that is more youth should get into vocations that are required by the economy. not necessary going into the university to get a BSc or whatever…… i think Ghana will make it. When u talked about corruption……..there are state institutions that deal with this and therefore if u think somebody has misappropriate public funds send him to these institutions. u see the opposition does not want to be responsible because of subsequent legal implications. it is not enough to say Mr. A is corrupt so gov should deal with that person. this is unreasonable.
