Categories: Sub-Saharan Africa, Mozambique, Elections, Governance, Protest

Custódio Dumas [1] [pt] on the protests against cost of living that have been taking place in many Mozambican cities [2]: “A crowd with no bread does not need a leader. Hunger is already a great leader. An impoverished population does not need propaganda. The very poverty calls for a revolt. There is no way to prevent this to happen in this country while we still have a mean government. The worst is still to come: the next elections will have minimal adherence, as never happened before”.
