  This appears to be a well-researched article. One aspect which the author mentioned and gets ignored is that the purpose of all religions is to understand and reach the stage of “piety” or divine qualities which is not dependent on economic development. We fail to understand this important requirement of all religions due to the absence of spiritual knowledge. As long as the education system does not teach us the difference between matter and spirit (body and spirit) then all our actions would be at the bodily-level that of animalistic-behavior. We may spend considerably time in debating about these matters if we do not understand and realize the difference between the body and the spirit and yet not reach a solution. Ignorance of this basic fundamental knowledge is the root cause of all the ills that plague the so-called civilized society today and will continue to be so.
