Malawi: William Kamkwamba in the Wall Street Journal

Erik writes about the Malawian young scientist, William Kamkwamba, on Afrigadget: We’ve written about young Malawian William Kamkwamba a couple of times here on AfriGadget, so it’s great to see him getting recognition in the WSJ! The article is titled “A Young Tinkerer Builds a Windmill, Electrifying a Nation“.

  • Dear Ndesanjo,

It’s amazing how far he’s come in just six months since TEDGlobal.

  • Tom,
You are right. Absolutely amazing. I hope the next TEDGlobal will bring another “William.”

  • Mabvuto Banda

Its quite refreshing to hear about William in the WSJ. Such genius tells you one thing and that is there are plenty such Williams in Africa but we don’t just seem to care much…no systems in place to tap into their extraordinary abilities.
