First and foremost, I must thank you for linking your honorable blogsite to “Indonesia Matters” where my article titled “Dukun” was submitted.

I wrote on that subject neither due to scepticism nor that I consider the work of Dukuns as mere illusion.

I wrote it because despite a law forbidding its practice in Indonesia, it has not made a difference to the natives. I think it is a way of life for the natives and it appears that they do not treat it as a phenomenon. On the deeds of Dukuns, there is credibility from cases that I have witnessed as well as from incidents related by other people whom I personally know and were involved with Dukuns.

In this present age which man proudly believes is progressively modern, educated and where knowledge has reached scales unknown before, there continues to lurk in the dark recesses of man, an unfailing recourse to and belief in rituals that produce results which defy logic.

    Cheers,
    Iamisaid – “Indonesia Matters”
