We all used to watch cartoons when we were children. In fact, many of us still like watching cartoon movies. And sometimes some of those movies stay there in our minds for a while and affect our lives. Captain L.J.Silver wrote here (Ar) about a movie he watched 15 years ago, and still can't forget.

من الغريب جدا تلك القدرة الغريبة لأفلام الرسوم المتحركة على النتأثير في نفوس الأطفال ,لا أستطيع ان أحدد سببا واضحا لذلك و لكنني أزعم ان هذه القدرة ترتكز على مبدأ بسيط جدا و هو أن هذه الأفلام تخاطب مشاهديها بنفس لغتهم ؛لغة الخيال الجامح الغير محدود-الشيء الوحيد الذي يولد كبيرا عند الأطفال-و من هنا تستطيع النفاذ الى قلوب بل و عقول الأطفال بكل سهولة و يسر

It is really strange how cartoons can effect children. Nobody can find a clear reason for this but I think it is because such movies talk to children using their own language, the language of unlimited imagination – the only thing that is born big in children. And this is how they can take over their minds and hearts easily.

Then he tells us about the movie that had a great effect on him.

الفيلم كان يحكي عن فأر صغير في الغابة لا يشغل تفكيره أي شيء سوى حلمه بالطيران ,كل يوم يثبت جناحين من الورق فوق يديه و يذهب للقفز من فوق تبة صغيرة غير عابيء بالالام الناتجة عن سقوطه مرة تلو الأخرى..يوما بعد يوم يبدأ جناحين صغيرين في النمو مكان يديه وهو لايكل ولايمل من التمرين الى أن يصبح قادرا على الطيران و يحقق حلمه …ولكن تأتي الرياح بما لا تشتهي السفن ,فلقد قامت حرب كبيرة في الغابة بين مملكة الحيوانات و مملكة الطيور …و يقف الفأر عاجزا عن الانضمام لأي طرف منهم .

The movie was about a little mouse, who used to live in a forest and had one dream, and that was to be able to fly. Everyday he put on a pair of wings made of paper and went to a small hill and jumped from there, without paying any attention to the pain that he felt after falling each time. Day after day, two small wings started to grow in the place of his arms, and he kept trying to fly continuously until he was able to do so. But what he never expected was that a war started between the animals and the birds and he stood in between unable to decide which side to join.

He then continues:

الفيلم يقدم ببساطة شديدة فكرة غاية في الروعة …كيف من الممكن أن ننساق وراء حلم ما حتى ننسى ما سواه…وقد ننساق وراء الحلم لدرجة أن يصبح السعي وراءه هو الغاية في حد ذاتها …و ليس تحقيقه !
من الصعب أن تقضي حياتك محاولا اللحاق بسراب لا وجود له !….ولكن الأصعب هو أن تسعى وراء حلم بكل امكانياتك ..و تكتشف أنك اذ أصبحت قادرا على تحقيق الحلم فلقد قفدت ما هو أهم منه….فقدت نقسك

The movie presents a very simple yet wonderful idea … How can we follow a dream till we forget anything in our lives but it … We may also follow it till the dream itself becomes our goal instead of making it come true.
It's really bad to spend your whole life trying to find a mirage that is not there! But what is worse is to spend everything in order to follow a dream … and then realize that you were able to make it come true but after losing something more important … losing your own self.
