India, Burma: No Comment

Sepia Mutiny on India being rather quiet on the issue of the pro-democracy protests in Burma.

    I hope they are all in deep meditation and prayer along with their quiet for the safe and sane outcome of this movement. Deep resentment can be healed between these two nations if not only sooner. May all beings have freedom and peace.

    Being an Indian I am ashamed about the Indian government’s silence over the freedom fight in Burma. India, once identified as a promising alternative to Western moral standards in politics is now following in the footsteps of the West and obviously putting priority on economically motivated politics, forgetting that what is going on in Burma right now is an impressive reminder of Indias own fight for freedom from oppression just a few decades ago. What a shame.
