Thailand: the first victim of the Computer Crime Act

It seems that the Thai authorities have used the recently passed Computer Crime Act to arrest two Thais for alleged offensive comments posted on the Internet about the country’s revered monarch. “At least one person being detained in Bangkok Remand Prison for crimes against the new Computer Crime Act which came into effect on July 18, 2007,” Prachatai reported today.
