I am so concerned about the precious Corazal community and its surrounded villages. How has it been effected by Hurricane Dean? What help is needed? This is my first time to blog.

I have a daughter in Belize and haven’t heard from her in a few days. Please let me know the extent of damage, and if she will be able to communicate with me soon.

Most of the damages are in the Corozal District, to my knowledge Orange Walk, Belize City and San Pedro are up and running. Corozal Town will be the first to get electricity in days or in two week all other villages are going to have electricity in a month. It is a disaster most people have lost their roof tops and even their entire house. Communication should not be a problem. What will be a problem are the layoff in papaya industry more than a thousand people will lose their job until further notice which is speculate to be a whole year.
