A Chinese court in the southeastern province of Zhejiang jailed [1] Chen Shuqing, an online author and a founding member of the banned China Democracy Party [2], for four years on charges of “inciting to subvert state power”. “It's totally wrong to convict him … He was only expressing his political views. He should enjoy free speech.” his lawyer Li Jianqiang told Reuters [3].

We reiterate our appeal for the release of Chen and the 50 other cyber-dissidents and Internet users held in China,” Reporters Without Borders said [4].
