  On this auspicious day, August 15, 2007 when Indians are celebrating 60 years of Independence from Britain, I do not want to comment on this cynical and comical piece of news where the writer blames India for supporting terrorism in Sri Lanka. All the nations around the globe are aware of the LTTE’s ruthless terror, they are also very well informed about the duplicitous and savagery of the Sinhala ruling class.
  In 1962, during the Indo-Chinese war the then Ceylonese (Sri Lankan) P.M.Srimavo Bandaranaike was supportive of Chairman Mao of the PRC and not P.M of India, Shri Jawaharlal Nehru. Srimavo outwardly claimed and lied that she was a family friend of Nehruji , but in typical Kandyan veneer backstabbed Nehruji at the UNSC. Again in 1971, during the Bangladesh Liberation War (Mukti Juddha) Srimavo claimed that she was a special friend of Indian P.M. Shrimathi Indira Gandhi, but betrayed India by granting Pakistani Air Force fuelling rights at Katunayake. In the 80s President of Sri Lanka, J.R. Jayewardene had the impudence to call Mrs. Gandhi, “a cow and filth” then had the temerity to ask Mrs. Gandhi to deport all the Sri Lankan Tamil politicians (including Opposition leader A. Amirthalingam) who had taken refuge in India after the 1983 pogrom, where Tamils were butchered and killed by Jayewardene’s goons.
  The Sinhala ruling class is as vicious and ruthless as the Tamil Tigers. The Sinhala ruling class is called the ‘gadflies’ of Asia!!

  I tend to agree with mr/ms kumar.

  While the western powers has rightly taken the ltte to task for its various omissions and commissions, all through the years it appears to me as if the sinhalese-run govt is the worse culprit.other than child recruitment the govt of lanka seem to me to outperform by several notches all the genocidal and inhuman activities the ltte is accused of and punished for.

  I hope the western powers see the truth of savagery and open racism perpetrated on tamils and take strict measures on the ground to punish the sinhalese polity.the lankan govt does not seem to care a bit about world opinion and has made it a habit to personally vilify any person/agency which point out their violations.
  It would not be a bad idea to have a Kosovo-type referendum under UN auspices to really understand the will of its people.
