Haiti: Haitian Film

The Haitian Eclectic links to the trailer of a Haitian film that “follows two gang leaders who took over a slum in Haiti right before Aristide's 2004 forced exit.”

This movie misportrays events in Haiti. It uses CNN and other corporate news as the narrative. It totally ignores the role of the death squads, the US marines in overthrow Aristide, the aid embargo on Aristides government, the Elite/Sweatshop owners role in undermining the government and promoting a crisis. This is some real propaganda if there ever was any.

Aristide was no leftist, but a rich politician who used people like the gang leaders in this film to hold on to power while his country got poorer.

Aristide was not Jesus or Superman!! He was a human being and doomed to make mistakes. History of the struggle of Haitian people can not be ingored in this analysis!!!
