Zambia: corruption wars

Cho discusses corruption wars in Zambia: “I have watched with some amazement at the recent flurry of discussions on corruption following the London judgement on our ex President FTJ. The issue has been much debated on every Zambian blog, forum and newspaper. As always these discussions have been led from the frontline by the Post newspaper, whose daily editorials on “Chiluba the plunderer” has now fuelled unpleasant exchanges between two ex-Presidents : the post columnist KK and the accused FTJ. But is the nation now in danger of losing focus on the issue of corruption?”

I dont think the focus is being lost. The important thing is that the common man in Zambia is now aware that the former President stole their money;that no matter how noble or christian a leader might claim to be,we as a people need to make our leaders accountable.Further more,it is a lesson to the leaders who are there today that if you abuse public resources, the law will catch up with you no matter how long it takes. And it is a wonderful and brave thing for President Mwanawasa to spearhead this fight forsaking any political costs this might have on him.We are looking forward to a more prosperous future.

    BRAVO PRESIDENT MWANAWASA S.C
