Iraqi blogger Raed Jarrar reports that three Danish soldiers have been captured in Iraq. ‘A number of Arabic news websites, affiliated with armed groups in Iraq, are reporting that 3 Danish troops were captured by an ‘Iraqi resistance group’. Why were they released?
Was it too much trouble to hold them?
Was a ransom paid?
The soldiers was not captured. A group of soldiers was attacked and had to seek cover in a house. The first shot from the insurgents injured one soldier who later died. When trying to help the soldiers an APC got hit by an IED and they had to fight insurgents another place.
British soldiers, stationed nearby, came to help in their much more armoured APC’s and all soldiers got away. 1 killed og 5 injured. Noone was taken as prisoners.
