Pakistan: Islam and Democracy

The Pakistani Spectator on why democracy is part of Islamic commitment. “Islam being the only religion teaches us about the rule of law & justice. People have the right to ask even the ruler (president or prime minister) about any issues related to the country, masses or the individuals. In teachings of Islam a leader should lead in Friday congregation so that he should mingle with the general public to hear their problems, views and take instant decisions for the betterment of the mankind around him.”
