Sadly, it’s true. I wanted to purchase a pair of tickets for someone who has devoted a lot of time and soul to my life in Georgia and I couldn’t believe that tickets start at $412 dollars! That is more than most average Georgians make in 3 months.
Unfortunately, tickets aren’t even available at Tbilisi ticket counters, they can only be purchased through the private organization inviting Mr. Cocker.
I, for one, am very disappointed. Though I won’t be able to go myself, I was very much looking forward to presenting the tickets to someone to whom they would mean so much and would never otherwise be able to afford them.
I hope the concert is a huge success, I saw Mr. Cocker at his first Moscow performance years ago, but I am extremely disappointed that he would agree to such high ticket prices in such a poor country – a country where there are so many who passionately love his music.
To be honest, I would have though $100 per ticket would have been reasonable, but to pay $400+ to sit in the balconies, in a non-airconditioned theatre, is unreasonable, even though…
I am sure it will be a fantastic concert!
Well yeah, $400+ is kinda A LOT. I was on Deep Purple concert last week in Geneva and it costed 60CHF (~55$)
But well yeah, there are A LOT of fans of Jazz in Tbilisi and I’m sure this concert will be amazing. :)
