Lebanon: The Truth About Hezbollah

Lebanese blogger Anton Efendi sheds light on the role Hezbollah plays in Lebanon. “Hezbollah strives for one thing and one thing only: maintaining its armed status and parallel existence both within and above the system. Think Iran's Pasdaran. In other words, Hezbollah has not joined the political process in order to integrate in it, but rather, to use it to protect its anomalous existence outside it,” he notes.

  • Hey,

I cannot see why linking to an anti-Hezbolla, a Lebanese, is listed under “Syria Global Voices” when his post doesn’t speak “directly” of Syria.
Not to mention that Tony Badran’s politics is obvious; his involvement with the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies whose Senior Advisor is Mr Walid Fares.
So I wouldn’t use “shed light on” really.
It is ironic that you linked to an Iraqi blogger who is “shedding the light on” the Israeli propaganda about Syria’s weaponry, Israel that it is also anti-Hezbolla. And now you linking to the solo force that proved to be the only in Arab history to “fail” Israeli mythical weaponry based on an Israeli committee today.
I usually like the links you choose, I find this one suspicious.

  • Let’s not get the conspiracy theories started here please. The aim of the daily links to provide a wide spectrum of the voices out there – with no malice intended. We clearly attribute the ideas expressed to the bloggers writing them and view ourselves as objective. If you have any comments, please address them to the bloggers – either directly or here on GVO – where I am sure a healthy debate could help bridge gaps in understanding and enable you to articulate your views without calling people names. I hope I have made myself clear.
