Matt Dioguardi at Japan in amber has posted a long and very detailed post noting a similarity between the ideas of right-wing groups pushing for “textbook revision” in Japan and leftists and libertarians in the United States on the topic of U.S. history and foreign policy [1]. Matt takes as his starting point a translation that he provides of a lecture by Takahashi Shouji of the Yamagata chapter of The Japanese Society for History Textbook Reform, a group once headed by now-Prime Minister Abe Shinzo.
