Japan: A new take on “Textbook Revision”

Matt Dioguardi at Japan in amber has posted a long and very detailed post noting a similarity between the ideas of right-wing groups pushing for “textbook revision” in Japan and leftists and libertarians in the United States on the topic of U.S. history and foreign policy. Matt takes as his starting point a translation that he provides of a lecture by Takahashi Shouji of the Yamagata chapter of The Japanese Society for History Textbook Reform, a group once headed by now-Prime Minister Abe Shinzo.
