Do you think that to manipulate with the faith of the whole nation is not big deal? Dou you mean that the destiny of the country which survived genocide and currently is under the blockade from the part of the same Turkey is not big deal? It is completely immoral to state that US has “bigger things” to do rather to waste time to recognise one of the biggest crimes in our modern history. This kind of crimes do not have time limits. It is because the fact that the Armenian Genocide was not recognised and the organizers never called for justice and left unpunished, made possible another crime against humanity in the same century – the Holocaust.
Dear Deborah do you know that in his speech calling for execution of Jews Hitler made reference to the Armenian massacres by saying ” go and kill them i.e. Jews, who now remembers Armenians”.
The recognition of the Armenian Genocide is the moral obligation of all, since Turkey continues its policy of denial and distortion of history, threatening to expell all Armenians from Turkey and subjecting Armenia to a complete blockade. Today, the recognition of Genocide for Armenia is also a matter of national security because the criminal is continuing the very same policy. Nothing has changed in the state approach to that question in Turkey.
