Nigeria: Nigeria Elections 2007

The World According to Adaure on Nigeria Elections 2007: “Part one of the much awaited election in Nigeria is finaly here. The Feds on Wednesday declared Thursday and Friday a public holiday, literarily at the very last minute. Many people including myself were rather ticked by this because we didn't get the opportunity to rush to the banks to load up for the long and ominously questionalble weekend. Yes, people are scared about what's going to go down.”

  • it is unimaginable to think or say that this government has decided to potray there ugly side to the world at this stage.I would lik to ask this question (WAS THERE ANY PUBLIC HOLIDAY WHILE THE REGISTRATION EXERCISE LASTED?).This has shown Mr. President height of political maneavouring which has characterized his government within the past years.Dont you think that military coup could be the last resort for this set opposition parties.Either way non is good for the suffering masses who has always been the victims of our politians rediculous way of thinking and live in general. My fear has always been that the youth of this generation are begining to reason like their leaders ( WINNER TAKE IT ALL) what a shame on our porputed leaders who derive joy seeing others suffer while they go about parading themselves as a thin god.As to the thugs i have a question (WHOM AMONG OUR LEADERS HAVE YOU SEEN HIS SON AMONG THE AUDIENCE CAMPAIGNING).I get angry to hear most people heaping the whole thing to God when apparently it is in our hands to resolve.God of cos can not come out and vote or instil discipline,The clerics are no where to be found now rather tomorrow they make noise to condemn.Well let watch and see what will happen within the next few weeks before and after the elections.(IF ONLY OUR LEADERS WILL RESPECT THE RULE OF LAW).CORNELIUS C.From Brazil

It will be foolhardy for the International community( US, Britain, France, China, Russia, etc) to adjudge todays elections to be free and fair if the ruling party won by majority. This is because the ruling party, Peoples Destroying Party- PDP have already written the results in compliance with their puppet electoral body INEC.
Ninety-eight percent of Nigerians do not want the ruling party to continue in power because they have failed the masses. You cannot imagine that there are no good roads in Nigeria, even if there is any, it is not as wide as a local or private road in any European country. There are no constant electricity in Nigeria and when one go to countries like Niger, Ghana, etc that we supply electricity to, they have power year in, year out. We have everything in Nigeria, still we lack everything.
We are asking that Obasanjo Olusegun should not hand over to his party men because if he does so, it is against the will of Nigerians. Please you should help us before Nigeria disintegrates. If there is problem in Nigeria, all the countries of the world will be affected directly or indirectly. Help us to preserve Nigerians continuous existence. May God help us.

  • I simply think the answer to bigman terrorism especially by our politicians is the emergence of another jerry Rawlings of Ghana. There is need for a total revoultion and cleansing of the entire country either by God or the the youths. We have suffered so much that we need to arise from our deep slumber.Nigeria todays has the greatest number of immigrants in any country in the world, simply bcs the operating machinery’corruption’has refused to die.
This election is a complete shame to both the world powers and to nIgerians in general

  • In Delta they are no elections for the all delta.

  • ON THIS HISTORIC ELECTION
To my mind, if Nigeria Can manage to pass on the civilian/civilian baton of leadership for this first time, and without pellets coming out of barrels, we should all thank God/ Allah/ Tsosi/ Chukwu/ Olorun/ Soko, Yahweh, and Whatever other Name we have Carved For The Almighty Creator of Heaven and earth. Nigeria is a baby in Democracy. And although we always want to fly like Giant Green Eagles, our wings need to come to democratic maturity before we can stand neck to neck with our Democratic examples like “Gods Own Country” and “GB”. There is little argument whether the three presidential hopefuls can perform or serve our country well. All three are fine gentlemen with their heads well fit on their necks (at least in their pasts). And if the estranged VP can jump the hurdles of accusations without Hurting himself; he will be good enough a competitor to the other two competing brothers.
For Kwara State- Just Give me the Turaki’s Progeny again and I am OK. May God be with Nigeria, Our Elected Leaders, Our Silent Spiritual Leaders and The Hopeful Population. Amen Amen.

The State Elections in Nigeria has proved that INEC is ready tp conduct the 2007 General Elections. Nobody gave them the chance of succeeding. Prof. Iwu and his team has sprang another surprise.

I am surprised that Nigerians instead of commending INEC is castigating the outcome of the elections. Lets be a litlle bit civil and learn not to follow the politicians who failed to actulise their ambition led us by the nose.

This Elections just goes to show one thing – the agenda of OBJ to impose on us his bunch of rascals, thugs, and thieves in PDP.

How can INEC claim to have held an election in a state where majority of the people were not allowed to cast their votes because the ballot boxes and papers were either carted away by PDP thugs in security uniforms, or people awere simply shot dead to scare others away?

One can count on ones fingers the places where voting took place in Delta state: Ibori’s villa in Oghara, and Uduaghan’s village. Is this what Delta state is about?

Edo is about being robbed of good governance under Adams Oshiomole because Shege and his boys have performed their magic again.

Obasanjo should be thoroughly ashamed of himself. His legacy will be that of dictatorship in civilian garbs, thugery and a scar on Nigeria’s tortuos history! SHAME!

CALLING FOR EMERGENCE, THE INEXISTENCE PAN AFRICANISM AGENDA-NIGERIA 2007 ELECTIONS.

It is rather unfortunate that our earlier generations bequeathed on us a style that makes the strong oppressive and the weak snuff all of it with praises, without a recourse to the fact that we were all created equal by God.

At all times when there are power play WITHIN the realm of the oppressors; recourse are usually soughed from the realm of the oppressed, calling people out to fight or defend themselves which at all times turns the table over to justify the saying that when two elephants fight it is the grass that usually suffers.

The agenda that is being made to surface and get encourage by people of all colours and shades; that abhors the idea that Africa must not only survive but arise and stand firm using this forum is for us all to lend support to teachings of in-depth political ideologies, whereby it will be easily discernible by the oppressed on how not to be led to fight the parochial and selfish cause of our terrible politicians who only places the journey of political and economical emancipation of the Great African continent on the lips.

Going by the 2007 election currently going on in Nigeria and the emerging results; nothing new is portend. It is still the same power play between the interests that spanned across all the political parties and geo political zones including the seeming angelic newly registered parties. They are all pre-occupied in rigging and when and where they are rigged out there are usually thunderous hues and cries to the oppressed, pauperised, impoverished masses to come out and fight, this obnoxious calls should be discouraged.

This need be done because no country; I mean no country can give us human aids in replacements of the lives that had been lost in all the various Africans countries in the last thirty years and even currently in Somalia, In the stead, it is usually exigent and prompt for warring African countries to be lavished with food surpluses and arms which is meant for us to use to slay our fellow brothers.

    Thank you for reading.

Was there election in Nigeria? No there was’nt what we had was nomination and sellection by Obasanjo and his polital party. Yes, the INEC would have done their job well if given the chance by Obasanjo. What pains me most is that he Obasanjo keeps confusing the world saying that he is fighting curruption but he is the N° 1 currupt leader Nigeria ever had. A monkey is always a monkey and can never change. Obasanjo is currupt and is still currupt until he dies. He is the one appointing all the state governor and the president so that his ass can be covered over the money he has squandered from the Nigeria treasury. Using EFCC to cover his ass. We all know that but who will bell the cat? Am sorry to say that Nigeria was built on curruption by our colonial masters. We have alot to say about 9ger.
