Pakistan: What is a “Progressive Muslim”?

Actually, that post was supposed to be applicable to a lot more than Pakistan.

iFaqeer: Absolutely get that. But since posts are arranged country/ region wise – I need to categorize each post I link to “under” a country. Most often – it is respective to the region the author comes from. ..
I understand that–which is why, I have always wondered if GV will/should do a category for “the Muslim World” or based on topics/issues…

Also, how do we define “A Muslim World”? Even if we were to come up with an acceptable definition we would have to divide up the rest of the world according to religion – a Hindu World, a Christian World (of course we’ll also have to mention the sub denominations), a Buddhist one, and so forth. Then there would be the Agnostic World and the Atheist World too.
I think it could potentially get messy and polarize us far more. I also think it’s an imposition. I am not particularly sure if I want my posts to be categorized under “A Hindu World”.
When I tick something as Pakistan – I am not limiting it to Pakistan really – am just saying this is where this comes from. The scope of the issue is determined by the content. But perhaps if sorting out posts by religion is a good idea – someone else is always welcome to do it.
