Kuwait: Internet Law Wanted

Kuwaiti blogger Forzaq8 says Kuwait should introduce a new law to regulate Internet services. “We need Some kind of Law for Internet in Kuwait , you can’t just add a Filter Software and block as you like , you can’t block sites because some guy from State security Called and told you so , there should be written order by a committee to block site and you can challenge them on that verdict , not just block without any idea why or merit,” he writes.

i totally agree with her Ms Amira.
i would liek to add that the screening process is not at all professional. children use filters such as name tags. this prevents users from accessing neccessary data.
if they want to ban sites , they ought to go have a look at hi5 , zorpia and other sites to keep track on what is really happening with the youth of today . it’s disgusting.

  • Even though this topic is at least a couple of weeks old, it’s still an issue. No one will be able to block any blog, as long as there’s ‘net access & people to read them. I totally agree with the concept of an Internet Law, as long as it adheres to the protection of the young & innocent, not as a tool of censorship, which never worked in Kuwait anyway!
