My Life blogs about a new African Women's magazine, “Kitu Kizuri is a new quarterly African Women's magazine, which is currently in print, and will be available in April for the public. I'm pretty sure there are lots of other African magazines out there…maybe not, but Kitu Kizuri is very different. Think of it as the Essence of African women, xcept, it is by us, for us, and about us.”

Been there, done that. It’s called Exquisite Magazine (www.exquisitemag.com), MIMI Magazine (www.mimimagazine.com), and Nouveau Africana (www.nouveauafricana.com) to name just a few. Nothing new with KK, starting with the slogan (Voice of the African Woman), which is a complete rip off of MM (A Voice for African Women).
I would very much like to disagree with JB about his negative comments on Kitu Kizuri. All the magazines he mentions are online magazines….never once have they gone to print. Kitu Kizuri is different….. and time will proove JB wrong.
There is also a new African women’s empowerment magazine called Obaasema magazine (www.obaasema.com) that just went to print and represents the African woman, with quality content. It even has Angelique Kidjo as its first featured cover face…very very inspiring publication if you ask me.
