Alex was surprised by both the Hong Kong reporter and Margaret Chan, the newly elected WHO Director-General's performance in the official press conference [1] (zh): a Hong Kong reporter insisted to repeat an earlier (English) question and asked Chan to reply in Cantonese in order to get a “soundbite” eventhough the official languages are English and French. Chan agreed, which surprised all other reporters. Then she changed her stand and said she wouldn't give “special treatment” to Hong Kong.
