Jennifer Woodard Maderazo covers the controversial (and unanimous) decision by Nicaragua's parliament to implement a total ban on abortion [1]. Costa Rican blogger Julia Ardón has reprinted a public letter signed by the Nicaraguan Association of Writers (ANIDE) [ES] [2] demanding that exceptions be reinstated for women whose lives are threatened by pregnancy. The Nicaraguan weblog Abortar es Matar! (“To Abort is to Kill”) is clearly pleased by with the measure [3].
