Brunei: Dealing With Stray Animals

There is a debate on in Brunei over what to do with stray animals after a boy was attacked by a stray dog. There were calls for setting up an animal shelter. The blogger at Daily Brunei Resources has further comments on the issue and a possible solution for setting up the shelter.

It is sad to see that there are so many stray dogs around BSB. Is there any organisation that looks after them ?? A few af these animals are in a pittyful state and desperately require help. If there is an organisation in the city, where can we contact them ?

But how do we deal with them!!! If we don’t do anything they might die!!!!!!!

they might die??? they will die especially if they are poisoned by the B######s thats poison them with tainted meat!
    Brunei needs to wake up..
    poisoning wont help..
the stray problem will still remain until there is a legitimate shelter(like there is in most places in the world)
Brunei’s strays need to be de sexed…
they are NOT all vicious aggressive animals..
Most of these animals willmake brilliant pets.. once they learn to trust again.

dogs dont normally attack, unless provoked(ie stonethrowing, teasing, pretending to bark at the dog)
Brunei needs to listen and learn!

Brunei us beautiful, but they way it treats its animal population is diabolical!

You shouldn’t poisen any dogs just because they are strays. Give them a chance and you will be amazed at what loveable pets they can turn into when they are given a chance.

the people of Brunei need to be educated about dogs.. and they need to realise that their faith doesnt forbid them (so im told) from touching dogs…its all so so open to individual interpretation..
    BUT that besides
it also doesnt say go out and poison all dogs, stray, pets, guard dogs at whim.. as all dogs are evil…
aim for dogs in your cars.. throw stones at dogs as they are starving and in the bins..

IF BRUNEI Had a PROPER shelter with employed staff, vets, rehoming facilities.. the problem could become undr control..
IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY as its just common sense thats needed…
