Malaysia: Human Trafficking

Malaysian blogger Volume of Interactions watches a documentary on trafficking of women while on a visit to Australia. The blogger is disturbed by the fact that most of the trafficking transits through Malaysia. “What irks me so much is that these things are happening right now within our very borders, perhaps no further than a stone's throw from where i work. Its an issue of terrifying proportions yet i had to travel to a foreign country to learn and listen from a frank discussion of the problem. Why don't we hear about these things in our local news? “

Why can’t the goverment stop prostitution. It is one of the reason why human trafficking happened. Humans now should be more educated about sex especially MEN.They are the main reason why human trafficking and rapes are happening. If there’s no demand for sex…we could save the women and children from being exploited. If we all unite we can stop this immorality and violence.

  • The UN Human Rights Council should draft, examine, adopt and promulgate a treaty which is aimed at prosecuting in the ICC and consequently giving the most severe punishment not only to perpetrators of drug and/or human trafficking, but also to their relatives, their children and their children’s children as well. Only these draconian measures cam make this type of criminals understand how much victims of drug and/or human trafficking and their families suffer because of their crimes.

  • The technology exists to detect human cargo aboard planes and ships. There should be a system to monitor smuggling activities without notifying the culprits. This would avoid the usual government involvements.
