Edward Lucas, the Central and East European correspondent of The Economist, writes about the dispute over whether Romanians and Bulgarians should have the right to work in the EU: “Few subjects stimulate sillier discussion and worse economics than migration from poor countries to rich ones.”

And so my dear friends, if a person wants to earn an honest living but cannot, due to restrictions, what are they to do? We all have a right to live! Then you wonder why there are so many desperate people committing crimes in your countries just to survive? I am a Romanian national who was raised by God fearing, honest and hard working parents, one who comes to you in peace. I detest violence and bad deeds and genuinely enjoy making a person´s day brighter. But I tell you one thing; all hell would break lose if my family has to go hungry, despite me trying my best to find employment, and only because I am being impeded by racist Europeans with twisted perceptions and prejudice towards ALL Romanians. Can you blame me? If your answer is yes, then you are a person without a heart and soul.
