Blogger Christine Susanna Tjhin, an Indonesian student in China describes the Hungry Ghost Festival [1]. “The Ghost Festival is said to be the time when ghosts roam the world every year. In some areas of China, visitors can see small roadside fires, where believers burn paper money and other offerings to appease the restless spirits, who have temporarily been released from Hell.”
